With the Made in America program, we aim to showcase both native American composers and European composers who immigrated to America. The program includes works by Copeland and Gershwin, providing a unique opportunity to explore the diverse and rich American musical tradition.
Copeland is renowned for his evocative melodies and archetypal themes that resonate with audiences worldwide, paying homage to the vibrant American classical music tradition.
George Gershwin’s contribution to American music is equally significant, blending classical, jazz, and popular influences to create a distinctive sound that has left a lasting impact on music history. Gershwin’s innovative style adds dynamism and vitality to any concert program.
To complement the program, we will also feature Schönberg’s Nocturne for strings and harp, as well as Dvorák’s American Quartet in a version for string orchestra.
