Larsson: God in Disguise

Before the Cathedral Choir and the Vox Beata choir take summer vacation, they invite you to a summer concert in Kalmar Cathedral. In the first section of the concert, the soloists will sing songs by, among others, Wilhelm Stenhammar, Hugo Alfvén and Gunnar de Frumerie. The choirs will also sing some well-known summer songs, where of course Waldemar Åhlén’s famous Summer Psalm is included in the program. In the second section, Lars-Erik Larsson’s lyrical suite, God in Disguise, will be performed. The work was performed for the first time on April 1, 1940 and has since been regularly performed around our country and has become a much appreciated work. The text is written by Hjalmar Gullberg and taken from his collection of poems Love in the Twentieth Century.
