The concert

This February, Camerata Nordica returns to the United States, following its first transatlantic tour, with a special highlight marking the ensemble’s New York debut at Carnegie Hall Weill Recital Hall.

The program brings together Nordic creativity, classical brilliance, and the emotional intensity of the 20th century. At its heart is Seasons, a brand-new work by Swedish composer Hanna Helgegren, commissioned by Camerata Nordica and performed with film projections capturing the striking beauty of Sweden’s landscapes.

Alongside this multimedia creation, the ensemble performs Mendelssohn’s youthful and exuberant Octet, played by heart, as well as Shostakovich’s gripping Two Pieces for String Octet, creating a program that moves seamlessly between lyricism, energy, and raw expression.

As part of the tour, Camerata Nordica will also take part in several outreach and community concerts, deepening connections with audiences beyond the concert hall.
