De fem dikterna i ”Five poems” \u00e4r valda ur Sara Teasdales bok \u201cLove Songs\u201d, f\u00f6r vilken hon bel\u00f6nades med Pulitzer priset 1918.<\/p>\n

But Not to Me
\nThe April night is still and sweet
\nWith flowers on every tree;
\nPeace comes to them on quiet feet,
\nBut not to me.<\/p>\n

My peace is hidden in his breast
\nWhere I shall never be;
\nLove comes to-night to all the rest,

Child, Child

\nThe voice and the eyes and the soul of a man;

\nOut of the wound new joy will start;

Joy

\nI love, I am loved, he is mine,
\nNow at last I can die!<\/p>\n

I am sandaled with wind and with flame,
\nI have heart-fire and singing to give,
\nI can tread on the grass or the stars,

After Love
\nThere is no magic any more,
\nWe meet as other people do,
\nYou work no miracle for me
\nNor I for you.
\nYou were the wind and I the sea\u2014
\nThere is no splendor any more,
\nI have grown listless as the pool
\nBeside the shore.<\/p>\n

But though the pool is safe from storm
\nAnd from the tide has found surcease,
\nIt grows more bitter than the sea,
\nFor all its peace.<\/p>\n

Ebb Tide
\nWhen the long day goes by
\nAnd I do not see your face,
\nThe old wild, restless sorrow
\nSteals from its hiding place.<\/p>\n

My day is barren and broken,
\nBereft of light and song,
\nA sea beach bleak and windy
\nThat moans the whole day long.<\/p>\n

To the empty beach at ebb tide,
\nBare with its rocks and scars,
\nCome back like the sea with singing,
